The Quartz Bottle is the best water bottle I’ve ever seen and it’s easy to see why it will soon surpass the one million dollar mark on Kickstarter. About a billion dollars worth of plastic gets wasted each year, either accumulating in a landfill or polluting our oceans while taking a laughable 450 years to break down. You could get a reusable water bottle but most of them are hard to clean and a breeding ground for bacteria. The Quartz Bottle not only cleans itself but purifies unfiltered drinking water.
The UV-C light that the Quartz bottle uses can kill bacteria, mold spores, and viruses. These contaminants are usually what makes water that’s been sitting in water bottle too long taste funny. The LED bulb inside of the bottle can project a powerful UV-C light which breaks down the DNA bonds of the bacteria present inside of your water bottle. Washing your water bottle with soap can work but it’s difficult to do. It’s safer and easier to use the water purifying technology offered by the Quartz Bottle.
The Quartz Bottle will automatically set to clean itself every hour and the UV-C light purifier also does its job in under a minute. It charges via usb and keeps a charge for approximately two months.
Normal plastic bottles, even the disposable ones that you buy, contain trace amounts of bisphenol A (BPA). BPA has been linked to hormonal imbalances and even high blood pressure. Fortunately, the Quartz Bottle is BPA and Mercury free.
If the environmental and health arguments haven’t persuaded you, perhaps I can appeal to your wallet. The average pack of water bottles is about $4 and if you consume a pack of a week that’s at least $208 right there. The Quartz Bottle can be had for a pledge of $59. If you use it to purify your water for most of the year you stand to save a little bit of money. The Quartz Bottle is scheduled to ship out in March of 2018.
