It’s dilemma that plagues most of us, is there a safe way to interact with our phones as we drive? There are those rare times when I’m driving and I’ll pray for a red light so that I send off a quick text or put on a different album. Even though it’s against the law in some places, people are still going to look at their phones every now and then while behind the wheel.
According to a recent study published by Cambridge Mobile Telematics “Phone distraction occurred on 52% of all trips that ended in a crash.” The study looked at over 100,000 drivers over the course of 18 months and also concluded that in “drives that involve a crash, the average duration of distraction was 135 seconds, or just over two minutes.” Of course we all know everything can change in an instant.
That’s why the Marina Del Rey based company HUDWAY, has teamed up with Carrobot to create the HUDWAY Cast and make everyone that much safer. The Hudway Cast is a heads-up display, hence the name HUDWAY, that makes navigation, receiving calls and texts, and controlling music much safer. It goes right over the steering wheel so the drivers field of vision never has to be compromised by looking down. HUDWAY cast is transparent, transportable, and supported by both android and iOS devices.
The HUDWAY Cast projects the image on the phone screen out 2.8 meters or 9 feet in front of the driver and is blown up to 20 inches, which makes it easier on your eyes to process the information.
You can safely take calls, select and send a text from a template like “I’m on my way,” change the music with just a quick tap on the phone screen once it’s magnetically mounted somewhere on your dashboard.
Newer high-end vehicles already have heads up display, but HUDWAY has created an affordable alternative for everyone to use. If you want to learn more, go ahead click the button below. Drive safely!
