Have you ever wanted to professionally personalize an object but don’t have access to industrial thousand dollar machines? Well, Cubiio laser engraver is an extremely compact, inexpensive way to do just this.
As someone who has worked with industrial laser cutters and engravers for years, I am pretty shocked that this small device is able to engrave on so many objects.
How it Works:
Cubiio has not only turned something normally inaccessible to average consumers into something inexpensive and portable, it has also made the steps standardized to something anyone can figure out. All you will need is to download the Cubiio app from the Apple Store or Google Play. You then just follow the steps below.
1. Choose a Photo or File that you want
Starting your process can be as simple as choosing an image from your phone while in the app. That being said – you can also use G-Code files – which is a common machine language used on CNC machines and 3D printers.
2. Preview and Engraving:
Before you start engraving your part, Cubiio can project a spot light to the target surface. It then will follow along with the planned trajectory or its boundary rectangle. This will allow you to make sure your part will fit properly and get everything right on the first try.
Once centered, all you need to do is press ENGRAVE to burn exactly what you selected onto your part.
3. Batch Multiple Items:
If you are making a batch of items, either food products or items you are hoping to sell on your intial production run, the Cubiio can help you out.
Safety:
The one thing that needs to be emphasized on this product is that the proper amount of safety and precaution be used. Industrial lasers are very dangerous, and even though this machine only produces 800mW, there is enough heat to hurt yourself and cause real fires.
While all of the things above will help for protection, we definitely suggest getting the version with the CubiioShield:

Every laser engraver I have every used has been set up in an enclosed environment with plenty of fans and filters. This is because you are melting materials – which leads to carcinogens in the air. It is extremely unhealthy to stand right above materials that are being laser engraved, since you can breath in these unhealthy carcinogens.
Along with these particulates in the air that should be filtered, you do risk the potential of a fire. These enclosures will help to prevent this by keeping the environment the same everytime you use it. If you start getting careless with your Cubiio you could have a background to your product that you don’t notice can easily catch fire with heat. You should know the environment you are in before using this machine every time – and the Cubiioshield the best way to do this.
