Unbeknownst to most of the world, Windows 10 has a bunch of emojis — and they’re actually pretty cool. The designs are whimsical, poignant, and absurd. Microsoft’s emojis are flat and matted compared to iOS 11 emojis, which provide an inkling of depth. If you have a PC just hit the Windows key + semicolon or Windows key + period to pull up the first page of several hilariously cute emojis. You can toggle through them by hitting the tab key.
Those are just a few of my favorites, but unfortunately, they live on the Windows 10 island living out their days in isolation. When you send them to someone in Gmail or Google Inbox they seem to split into vaguely uninspired entities. For instance, the stealthy, badass-looking ninja cat defuses into ‘??’ which is not as fun.
Windows 10 will be updating more emojis later this year, with that update you can expect to see the pistol emoji change to a squirt gun, falling in line with the rest of the larger tech companies.
We are in the process of evolving our emojis to reflect our values and the feedback we’ve received. Here’s a preview: pic.twitter.com/BlB3yYTSht

Personally, I don’t know why they got rid of the Sci-Fi blaster they were sporting in 2015.
